    The prop went on today and I've been working on the wiring. It's looking just about done but wiring in the alternator is proving to be difficult. My first attempt resulted in a warm alternator the next day. I'm using a 3 wire Bosch from a car and at the moment it has me baffled.

    I'm still aiming for late June 2012 but there are a multitude of jobs that require a dip into the back pocket...as we all know.

    After saying (and meaning) 'Never again', now that I am doing jobs on somebody else's masterpiece I now know why we built our own.  You have to live with the bogs, bodges and blunders that come with what you buy.  'Course you have to live with the bogs, bodges and blunder on what you build, too, but at least you know where they are.

    Getting that forehatch down today if we can keep the rain off.  Sorry, off thread, but just to remind you You're Not Alone, Gary.

    The bloke on the counter walked out the back and picked up the first bit of steel, figured this must be it and gave it to me. I didn't think to check it, assuming he knew his job. I'm going to write to them with a copy of the bill and suggest they contribute. If this other bloke from the firm hadn't rang the right bit and rang me I would have launched with  a carbon steel prop shaft instead of a 316 Stainless one. Though I might have gotten suspicious came this Wet Season and seen it go rusty.
    You really do have to be on your toes to know what you've been given is what you ordered.
