    By rights we should be on board right now and ready to set sail tomorrow but sadly yesterday the car broke down. Really really not impressed.

    Annie the boat he bought is a 32 ft steel sloop. At the moment he's remodelling the galley, replacing rotten sections of plywood deck and I've spent a couple of days grinding back barnacles and bog below the waterline, though the rain stopped that yesterday. Rosemary is with him and seems to be...given the conditions and precariousness of getting on and off...enjoying herself.:)

    Hope the weather clears up for you Gary and you get away and have a great sail.  David W had mentioned he had his eye on a yacht in Oz.  Obviously he bought it!  I must drop him a line and find out more.  He's got a positive fleet, by now!

    Well the weather is garbage, there's far too much rain around. David Webb is battling the elements trying to get his new yacht watertight and off the hard. I'm dreaming of fry weather so I can get a couple of jobs done. Not mention we want to set sail for Moreton next Saturday and I'd like to do it in sunshine.

    Well I've said it before but I think this time it is actually going to happen. We're off to Moreton Bay in about 2 weeks. :)

    Sorry to hear that you're into maintenance/repairs before you've even had much chance to sail the boat, Gary.  Truly, there is nothing worse for a boat than not being used.  I know a lot of people get irritated about boats that are used only as liveaboards, but that is a far, far better fate than to languish for a long time with no attention at all.  Fortunately, not only have you built the boat yourself, so know what to do and how to do it, but plywood is relatively easy to repair.  Even a little sail in the river will give you a boost.  I hope you have fun.

    Well tomorrow I'm going for a sail. After several weeks of nothing other than maintenance and new antifoul I feel the need to remind myself why I'm doing it. It will be river only as I still have some dodgy side deck to replace...just need a good spell of dry weather. I have to keep reminding myself that though I only launched a bit over two years ago she is an old boat.
