    I met Steve Talbot while on the hard,he was working on his cat just across from me. Didn't get to have much of a chat as I was just too busy sadly. I've cobbled a video of sailing together called Redwing goes north pt1 on YouTube. I'll post the link here later.

    Redwing finally went back in the water last Wednesday and despite some rather interesting moments that I plan to write about we had a good time. Some interesting lessons learnt, some skills honed and some new ones practiced. Sadly I've lost a lot of photos and video as the SD card in my phone has cacked itself.

    David Webb came down for three days and helped enormously, I could not have done it otherwise. Redwing is on the up but still looks pretty back. Two days should see her structurally sound again.

     The rot is a horror movie. I've sent the whole day on the port quarter and transom area but I worked out how to fix it and I should have new ply back on it tomorrow.

    I'm with David on that one.  And while you're repairing, slather the stuff around any wood you can reach, just in case you didn't put enough on the first time.  Three coats good, four coats better, five coats ... well, I think you get the idea :-P

    Good luck, Gary.  After your first passage, you'll be keen as to do more.

    I have one word; EPOXY, and lots of it. Wonderful stuff for fixing all sorts of ailments in wood boats. Good luck with the haul out!
