Lexia's sails

    They are no credit to me!  Whereas many JRA members make their sails and indeed make their boats, I just wrote a cheque for ours ie for the boat and later for the sails.  I am fortunate in that Jane is still working, she says "to finance my habit"!  However, I will pass on your comment to Chris Scanes.

    I understand that the camber is approximately 6% at the bottom of the sail reducing to approximately 3% at the top.  However, these figures are both approximate because they are empirical rather than theoretical. I hope that is helpful.  jds

    I have put Chris's later photos in the photo gallery in the public pages. They show Lexia's sails setting extremely well.

    Lexia's sails are very beautiful in the photos, all shelf-footed and snug.  Their camber is amazing.  I have to admire Chris Scanes's workmanship... and still feel a sense of comfort that the forgiving junk sail can be made in other styles, even other cambered styles, and still function properly.
