    That sounds pretty exciting, John, although I don't think members will have time to make anything for submission!

    I looked on the website, but couldn't find anything about the junk model contest.  In  fact the website hasn't got round to putting up anything about junks.  But the whole thing appears to be brand new - and looks to be magnificent!  I imagine it has the potential to be a very important resource.

    The China Maritime Museum in Shanghai is organizing The First Wooden Chinese Junk  Model Contest. The pre-qualification will be due on 30 June 2017. A list of qualified entries will be announced by September 2017. Public exhibition of models will be in October-December 2017 and awards will be offered. Interested parties please write to taofeng@shmmc.com.cn and browse www.shmmc.com.cn
