One reason for getting it was to back up my iPad for navigation. I've put on iSailor, and also several weather forecasting, tides and tracker apps, to see which I like. It would still be possible to drop it on a rock and break the screen, but otherwise it's strongly built. I've already had it swilling around in the bottom of the tender, so the waterproofing works. I've put a Lifeactiv fixture on the back, and have a mating belt clip with a loop of webbing that I can put around my wrist so that I don't drop it, and a mating bulkhead mount in the cabin.

David,  interesting to see how you get on with your new AGM X1.  Do you have a navigation app on it?

One day my iPhone 4 will die and need to be replaced, with something with a larger screen that was waterproof.    Ideally button operated - touch screen are not so outdoor friendly.  I am unlikely to wish to pay the Apple premium.
