The best offshore heads I have used sat in a Maxi 94. I was just to sb of the companionway and one sat with face forward. I felt I could use it regardless of how much the boat jumped around. I guess sitting with face aft would work just as well. The clue is to have good sidewise support and handholds to prevent you from being thrown off. In a way I think it is best to jam oneself into sitting position.

Now for a most critical consideration.  I'm moving the head aft to next to the companionway.  Do I orient the throne facing aft or toward the centerline?

Experienced seaway users, please weigh in.
