Off topic, but in your avatar, your boat looks great, Asmat.  How does she sail?

Actually, I can bring this back on topic.  If, Karlis, you, or someone esle, were prepared to go to a boat show to promote junk rig, it would be a great idea to have a few posters printed with dozens of different photos of junk-rigged boats.  Easy to get from here.  I think people might be surprised at the number and variety of junk-rigged boats out there.

This seems like a good initiative, and it's great to see a member offering to get involved.

Robin Blain used to have a stand at the London Boat Show, together with posters, flyers, copies of newsletters and a fully-working model junk with which he would tour the country at boat jumbles, etc., so potential users could pull all the strings and see how it works (this is what hooked Pete and Annie Hill, see her article in the Commemorative issue).

I don't think he does this any more, but might be worth dropping him a line at rblain@sunbird.com.

We would certainly want to support you if you went ahead with this initiative. We could probably provide printed 'flyers', posters, maybe a few copies of the Magazine, and cover any expenses (subject to Committee approval). Doubt we could supply a working junk model, however :)
