Firstly, I'm afraid I'm not able to help with the sail delivery. However, if I might chime in here with a couple of thoughts...

A problem you have, Martin is that any sensible sailor would be hesitant to go to sea in a boat they know nothing about. Some details about the condition of the vessel might be interesting...

On a more positive note; if people are not aware, given a favourable tide, it is possible to sail from Cowes to Brighton in one daylight sail. We did exactly that (although we went straight past Brighton) when we sailed Alanouwoly from the Medina (Cowes, essentially) to Germany.

    Hi Martin, has anyone replied?

A lot of members don’t follow the forum and you might need to go to the membership list and actively look for people in your locality.  (Members’ Area/Directories/Membership List (Online and Printable). I am not all that familiar with the UK geography, and unfortunately not all members indicate their locality, but I entered “Cowes” into the search field and found two members, then “Brighton” and found three more, so there is a start. Click on the person’s name and you will get a few more details. Usually no phone number, but they all have email addresses

Most “junkies” are helpful people and once you have tapped in, local knowledge together with “word of mouth” will do the rest. Good luck with your delivery trip – take some photos and let’s know how it goes.
