Hello all!

My name is Nick, and my wife Monika and we are in our final stretches of finishing the rebuild of our schooner and plan to start our circumnavigation by the end of this year. My research into the fees of the transit etc of the  Panama Canal, supposedly increasing as of January 1, 2023, leaves me somewhat confused.

Is anyone currently going to, or about to, or going to sooner than us transit through the Panama Canal? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated!

These are the links I checked for reference, does this mean the toll will increase by $160 or does it mean that the entire structure is changed to eliminate buffer fess and such (I can’t imagine they would reduce any overall fees)?
