Is Otterbelly still at Silva Bay? That's where I saw Rupert Pelican, the one in Darren's photo, too.

Wow looks nice. I did happen to drive by Silva bay as it is close to where I got my ob  from. I should have taken a closer look. I will remember to look closer when next I am there.

I saw China Cloud in Deep Bay marina

In my case it was at Comox at low tide and she was (sort of) dried out. I noticed there is now an OB.

Whatever happened to the replica of China Cloud that was being built on Lasqueti Island?

That picture looks fairly far along. It looks like it will be a different colour scheme so should be easy to spot. I think I don't spend enough time on the water.

Meleet, a little 3-masted junk and Allen Farrell's last boat, may still be with her later owners who live a little way south of Shearwater.

Allen Farrell is obviously a fan of "fully rigged"

    Thanks for the pictures.

Rare indeed and worth a picture when you find one.  I snapped a few quick pics of this one while chaperoning my younger son on the dock in Gibsons some years back.

We hope to add ours to the ranks this year.

I hope all goes well. Mine is likely to be just a OB driven camper this year as I have yet to find a mast... or save up for one. For this year I need to add one more berth and finish a trailer conversion... being on the water over being "finished"

It seems Junks do not live in marinas :)  I have been living on the east coast of Vancouver Island since 2006 and the only junk I have seen until this past week was the China Cloud in the mud a few years ago. We took a trip to Quadra Island for the day and there I saw two junk rigged boats. Anchored out of course.

It is funny that when we were half way there my wife asked if I had brought my camera... I had forgotten and thought at the time, no big deal my phone is good enough for family shots (it was). I would have liked a closer look with a better lens though.

The red boat has lee boards, very straight sides, but looks comfortable enough. The white one is too far away to see much more than the odd tilt to the foremast. I guess one of the signs of a junk rig sailor, at least in BC, low cost moorage ;)  I think I will fit right in.
