    Hello Yordan

Bill Belcher's book's title is "Wind-Vane self steering How to plan and make your own"
    International Standard Book Number 0-87742-158-7
Library of Congress cat number : 81-85260

I downloaded a copy of Catalyst the journal of the AYRS number 23 in January 2006 and a gentleman called Jan Alkema has created and excellent system which i intend to make.

If you are interested after you have read the AYRS article  i can let you have his email - then for a small fee he sends you full construction suggestions.
    Good luck
    Ash

Might help to take a look at this AYRS publication on early (up to 1968) self-steering. Loads of useful information.

Yordan: try going to you local library and seeing if they have a copy of Bill Belcher's book.  I think the title is Self Steering for Small Craft and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Good to hear that you've found yourself a boat!

I still haven't made one but I've been looking forward to starting a windvane project. There's Bill Belcher's OGT design in plywood, which Arne has made and used previously, there's drawings for that design available. David Tyler has some drawings for a self-built windvane design he prefers to the OGT, I think Annie is also using a windvane based on this design.

Hi Yordan, look in Junk Information > Useful Links > Sails, Masts and Gear for some info, and try searching the Technical Forum for 'self steering'.
