Jointed battens on Cambered sail?

    Jonathon,

    If you by «cambered sail» mean a sail with camber built into each panel (bagginess); a so-called cambered panel sail, then I see no reason for adding joints.

    But then I guess, after having made a few of them, that my mind is just about hard-wired to think like that, nowadays...

    Hi,

    I'm converting a 19ft, 1964 Pearson Packet pocket cruiser to junk rig. The sail plan is 172sq.ft Do I need to consider jointed battens if I'm building a cambered sail?
