All, 

The flat sail has been modified with a single mid panel dart 

in an attempt to add camber. I will sail test it later this week. 

I believe the a two dart panel would give a more refined 

shape. The “camber appears more baggy than shaped! 

Sewing a curved sided sail would certainly provide a better 

shape but for these single polytarp sails, the darts allow 

quick sail building particularly if using the double sided tape, 

no sew techniques used by David Gray. I have included 

static photos in nil wind. Note the effect of the throat hauling 

parrel on the hanging of the sail ( the photos with no lifts

Much adjusting to be done but fun stuff to do!

A few mistakes I noted. The luff tail tales are mounted too

 far back. They should be 6 inches more  toward the luff. 

I believe I had my leech and luff directions confused while 

sewing the lump of sail!

The high point of the camber appears too far back. Although 

the peak of the dart is at 35% the actual high point seems to 

come at the mid flat portion of the sail. I’ll find out more 

when I can fill it with wind. I may have more bag than camber!
