Ever so slightly off topic, Dylan Winter over on KeepTurningLeft describes these little boats as "dolphin magnets".
All his videos are well worth watching but the"Moray3" video at 11:10 is a prime example of its attractiveness to dolphins.
I last saw this boat in a trailer boat compound in Tokaanu at the southern end of lake Taupo near Turangi.
