    Oh my,

Tired to death after splashing the boat, setting up the mast and sail plus a 36-hour transport sail all in one stroke, so just a short info for now.

The lazyjacks are still temporary (sewing machine broke down just before I finished the sail catcher), the batten parrel and sheetlet lengths are based on wild guess, the sail seems to cry for a THP and a million things have to be adjusted plus a couple of minor problems have risen as well.

But she sails with a junk rig! And sails wonderfully!

And before I forget: the most sincere and respectful thanks to Arne Kverneland and David Tyler for cthe enourmous help. Also Slieve for your tips on broadseaming plus everyone else here at the forum for being the soul of it.

Splash in three days, and still many things to do. If all goes well (fitting the mast for the first time and when the boat is in water being my biggest worry), we'll be sailing on Sunday!

Exciting times! Setting up the sail, finally!

Notice also, that the mas has been painted.

I will finish the most necessary work in the coming days. Due to family duties, the boat will wait for a week after that, and then we will have a splash. Hooray!

Dryfitting the masthead/crane: 2x12mm + 4x12mm ply discs, epoxied (the 4 smaller ones are to be set inside the mast). M8 u-bolts.

    Is this strong enough?

What to attach to the mast with - epoxy, sikaflex and/or screws to be able to remove it?

Looks great, Jami. Just as good and, I suspect, a lot cheaper than the metal option!

It's incredibly versatile, that W stuff!

The glue is on and the bolts tightened.

Oh, well - the supplier of the aluminium butt-weld flange has problems with the delivery. I will not wait for X weeks.

So I'll go back to the full-plywood system and make a collar from 1-2 layers of 30mm ply with 6-8 bolts though the whole partners package.

The bottom part of the mast (130x5) should arrive mon-wed along with the battens.

The bottom paint job is done, and with a decision of leaving everything not essential to basic sailing for next year, this could theoretically mean a splash day in a week. More realistically in two.
