Hi Gary, I watch your project with interest. A couple of boats before I took the JR plunge I owned a Hartley TS16. I really liked it for its lightness and the fact that I could launch it and retrieve it without getting my pants wet. I tried to get hold of a Hartley before buying the Farr. The only problem I see with a trailerable JR is the amount of time it takes to put the rig together if you are going to trail the boat somewhere and go for a sail. Mine lives in a handstand with the rig standing, about 15 minutes from arrival time to sail up and away. I look forward to further instalments.

Starting to look good

Plywood packer for the stainless steel outboard bracket glued on.
Scuppers for the outboard well are drilled...I do like step drill bits.
The Outboard well and aft locker have been sanded back and epoxy coated.I should be back working on the cabin next week.

I cut the birdsmouths for the mast extension today, they need a bit of a tidy up but they are not too bad. It always helps to have some scrap stock you can use to get the cut right. I still didn't get it perfect, but I was able to trim a mm or 2 off one side with out affecting the finished diameter. And dry clamped. I don't know why I bought these large hose clamps, but they are the perfect size.
