    Bonjour

Semaine du Golfe du Morbihan, 11th edition from Monday, May 10 to Sunday, May 16 2021

An international maritime event, a cultural and popular festival, in the magical landscape of "Petite Mer" (Mor Bihan in Breton)

More than a thousand traditional and classic boats divided into coherent and identifiable flotillas, which sail every day and vary between ports and anchorages. Result: a sea party "exploded" that drives the entire Gulf of Morbihan. It is the particular geography and the physical characteristics of this "small sea" (its islands and islets, the narrow gully that separates it and protects it from the high seas, the tidal surges, the choppy water, the currents and counter-waves. currents) which determine and rhythm all the nautical program of the event.

I'm trying to organise some sort of junket during the event.

You may pre-register your boat on the website :

    https://www.semainedugolfe.com/Home-1775-0-0-0.html (French or English)

    Bonjour Éric,

if my boat is ready I'll be happy to meet anothers junks during a junket, but I prefer not to register for the official  semaine du golfe, it's  too big an organisation and too rigid.

And even if my boat isn't ready, I'll meet you with pleasure too !

    Bonjour Thomas

Last year, when I registered to the Semaine du Golf 2019, I was in a similar spirit to yours. (I'm also single handed sailor and in a very independent and lonely mind  !).
In fact, for the Semaine du Golf it is as for Internet : "when it is for free you are the product". The real consumers are the spectators that are massed on the shore to look the passing boats. So the organisation is spreading the boats all over the Golf to provide a continuous show.
As you sleep on board, change berthing places every day, are moored on buoys and sail for long periods a day with your crew on your boat, the social time and organizational constraints are limited to the daily briefing (most of the time after breakfast or in the evening when the start time is early).
As the float is spreed in manny “flotillas” each one berthed in a location there is not the armada effect. As each flotilla has a flotilla manager that leads (officially) the flotilla with a motor boat we had no direct contact with the organisation. The only periods where all the boats are assembled at the same area is the monday picnic at the Ile d’Ars (rather crowdy but you may keep calm by yourself, as I did) and the final parade (where you are on your boat, first waiting to take your place in the huge boats snake then “sailing” with your flotilla to keep your place in the boat stream (not the most interesting but an experience).
I was in a limited 70 boats flotilla (let say 1980th boats).  The dingy flotillas are much greater (up to 300) with a lot a Brits and Netherland participants. We were sailing by ourself (the Muscadet were racing between them), as I had no engine I had my “official” tuck, every body was there to have a nice time with his crew, very positive and pleasant bench of sailors.
I was sailing alone most of the time but on most of the boats there were several crews and in social times like breakfast or diners they would “clan” by boat.
As I spent 6 or 7 hours a day sailing single handed and being alone on my boy all night I never felt overwhelmed by the mass of the event.
The lunch stops and night mooring were organized by local volonteers teams that were very friendly and helpful.
My conclusion was that the Semaine du Golf is “solitaire” compatible.

    PS : Bon travail !

    Hi Eric,

We were looking to register but were puzzled when we came to RAISON SOCIALE.  What does that mean in this context?

    Kind regards,

    Bonjour Ted

La "raison sociale" is the name of the company, in case your want to create an account for a compagny. It is not mandatory (no *), just pass the item.

    Bonne chance !

    Bonjour
I've been in touch with the Semaine du Golf management team. They are ready to incorporate a junket into the event in a single flotilla. If some junk dinghies are joining I proposed them to keep the dinghies into the same flotilla. that the dinghies crew would be berth on bigger boats.
The semaine du Golf is a huge event with about 1000 boats spread into At least 8 flotillas. (the biggest amonts of boats are into the "caravan dinghies" coming from northern Europe). In 2019 Mingming was in a flotilla of about 60 boats.

The boats are there to make the show. The public is spreed along the coast and there are thousands of people. The crew are "protected" by dedicated areas are specific queues.
It is evident that such an event will only possible if the Covid-19 is under good control in France and it means, as our politic is to "live with the virus"  that the event will only take place if an efficient vaccin is massively available early 2021.
I would like to have a ruth estimation of the number and size of the boats attending to the junket in order to be able to work with the Semaine du Golf organisation as soon as possible.
So, if you are potentially interested, please register (French and English available) on the Semaine du Golf website or contact me. https://www.semainedugolfe.com/Home-1775-0-0-0.html
