The "semaine du Golf du Morbihan will take place next week.

It's a very festive event with several hundreds of boats sailing around in the marvelous golf du Morbihan. The weather should be fine and tide slack.

I'll be there with Mingming in the "flotille 5" category.

It starts from the May 27th to the May 29 and last to the June 2sd.

I propose to the Britanny Junks to join.

    Bonjour

It was definitely a junket as we were two junk rigged vessels, but we didn’t met as the other boat, a French red schooner, entered the Crouesty harbor while I was stepping Mingming’s mast!

Little Mingming interested many persons. Her performance, single-handed, in various weathers, especially in squalls areas between islands, surprised many skippers.

The Telegramme, a Brittany regional newspaper, published a short paper on Mingming.

    Bonjour Eric,

Glad to hear of the interest in MingMing.

For those that need to know, the newspaper article can be found here : MingMing - www.letelegramme.fr .

    Bonjour

In the last Voiles et Voiliers magazine (580), there is a On the double page view of the Semaine du Golf du Morbihan's "Grande Parade". In the middle of the view there is little Mingming. Just next to Mingming the Hermione.

The view was taken just before the start with all the participant boats trying to find a place in the mess.

We were onder tow and supposed to keep behind the Hermione but she set her engine in reverse.... The tow boat hd no other choice but to overpass hte Hermione and sail a 360° turn into this massive block of boats with Mingming behind. It went well but was a bit screemy!!!

    Annie,

The line wrap on Eric's post makes it difficult to get the link properly.

Instead try this link which gives a dialog asking you to log in.

Ah!  Je le vois.  C'est fantastique.  Merci beaucoup, Eric.  Mais, malheureusement, trop de bateaux équipés de 'plates-formes pointues' ;-)

Ah yes, I love the Breton luggers.  The sardinières and bisquines are magnificent but it's the little open luggers, around 6 and 8 metres, that I really love.  And the colours of the sails - who would have thought there could be so many shades of brown?!
