The AGM has recently been held in NZ because the Chair and the Secretary live there, and because there is a concentration of active JRA members there. Before that, it has been held in the UK. It is reasonable to suggest that it should move over to the North American continent, as there are many members who live there - provided that some of those members there will volunteer for the major roles on the committee!

Yes, this year's AGM will be quorate, since we hold the AGM both online and physically, as we have members worldwide who are entitled to raise any matters that they may wish, and very few of them can reach a physical AGM, wherever it's held. That's why there is an AGM 2018 forum.

So, Peter, no AGM and associated junket in UK this  year.  However, if you look at Members' Events you will find the Brixham Sailing Festival on 26 and 27 May 18 at which Ted Stone is hoping to gather some junk rig boats.  It is a long way from Norfolk to Brixham, however I am sure that Ted Stone would make you welcome.

Thank you Jonathon, for your response to Peter.

It is interesting to observe that the incoming committee has two members from the UK, one from Norway, one from the USA, one from the Netherlands, two from New Zealand and the Membership Secretary will be somewhere in the World!

In my personal opinion, given the international nature of our organisation, I think that the AGM should move to new country next year. The AGM will discuss it today and the incoming Committee will discuss the venue in the months to come.

    Rob
