I'm on the Columbia River too! We live in The Dalles. Is your boat at Umatilla or up at Port Kelley? Every time I drive by there I think it'd be a nice place to keep a boat, and last time I drove down in there to walk the docks but turned back when I came to a sign saying it's private property.

Annie, I agree, it looks a lot of boat for not much money. Also a good start point for my plan to reach NZ!

    Don't forget La Chica,

Nicholas.  She would get you even closer to NZ!  It might be worth making an offer on her and, unlike some of the other boats for sale, I doubt you'd need to spend any more money than putting on food and fuel, so that although you would spend more in the first place, she probably wouldn't end up costing any more in the end.

Apologies for the late reply, its late spring here in Tajikistan and the mountains have been a-calling.

All this buzz of boats for sale within my theoretical budget has gotten me all frothy! So the decision has been made, I will put my boat on the market and use the, not insubstantial, running cost savings to do some bareboat charters over the next few years and invest the capital for that time in the future when another good boat comes along.

My wife is good and tired of me running up to her every time there is a well priced junk for sale moored somewhere pleasant..

I just heard back from Duane that he sold the boat to a local guy with family for 7k. I'm so glad it's not headed for the state's wrecking dock. Hopefully we see her cruising again soon.

    Yes.

I read almost to the end of this long string only to find the boat had already sold!
