A JR hunter Horizon on Ebay - buy it now price of £2000. If you are considering a JR - grab this one and give it a go. Even has the advantages of a good Taylors heater and a proper outboard well. Rig looks good but put an Arne/Slieve or David T. on it for a top quality outfit.

That should be a very easy boat to fit with a modern JR. The big rudder on the transom should handle just about any sort of rig.

A bargain. When I was looking around, in early 2016, the Hunter Horizon 23 was going for around £10,000. If only this one had been on the market back then.

OK, a new sail needed, and possibly a new mast as it looks like a small diameter Needlespar, but otherwise not much extra expense to get her going.

I see that someone snapped it up this morning. I'm not at all surprised - it was grossly underpriced at £2000, when it should have fetched at least £5000.

    That was me.

She looks good. A little tidying needed but useable as she is.

So, after several years of considering conversion, and even giving up on JR. I'm really pleased to say that I now own one. Perhaps the boat to take me into my retirement?

    Seasons wishes to all

£2000 would have been the 'right' price in Norway. Sailboats of this size are ridiculously under-priced here these days, just as houses are ridiculously over-priced.

The fact that I sold Frøken Sørensen in 2016 for 30,000Nkr (about £ 2,750), was little short of sensational...

Congratulations, Matthew. Yes, my Duette 23, almost a sistership, is my retirement boat and is easy enough to handle as I age, yet still capable of coasting around the UK, if not further.
