Pelican is a 26 foot custom catamaran with a schooner junk rig. She is very solidly built of marine ply/epoxy composite by an ex-professional boatbuilder for his own use. She has shallow draft of 2'4" and a beam of 9'9" so is trailable and an ideal East Coast boat. She has also reputedly been sailed to the Med and when I bought her in late 2015 she had French fire extinguishers and flares aboard. Lying ashore at Blackwater Marina, Maylandsea, Essex, UK.

Pics in attached zip file and online at http://s157.photobucket.com/user/christopher020352/library/Pelican?sort=3&page=1 and she is also advertised on ebay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232737760286?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649) and Apollo Duck (https://www.apolloduck.com/boat.phtml?id=562791). Survey report from 2015 and text of ad attached. Insurance valuation £8000. Asking price £4000 for a quick sale.

Well not quite, as it says an ideal gunk-holer, I have my sights on something more ocean-worthy.  Oryx is near perfect, though would prefer if the non-stretched, aand is the wrong side of the planet!

Is it possible to see forward from the cockpit at all?

That sure is a big and very solid superstructure right in the middle

Yes it is, through a glazed slit just above the companion ways, Darth Vader style.

However, the two hulls have separate entrances, Wharram style. The superstructure is an addition by someone and really serves just as a sprayhood. It would be fairly easy to remove - think an hour with a chainsaw plus a couple more making good and refixing the cleats etc. If I were keeping her, that's what I would do and have a proper canvas cockpit enclosure made. I did make enquiries and found it would cost anything from under £1000 for a simple sprayhood to around two thousand for a full enclosure.

There's your marketing then ... you need to paint it up Death Star Shuttle style.

    How does it sail?

As it says in the doc attached to the initial post,

    'Sails very well.
Sea worthy and safe as all sail controls come back to the cockpit.'
