Frederik, what is Orion's hull construction?  GRP?  Composite?  Also, where is she flagged and what is her tax status?

    Thanks in advance...

    GRP construction. Solid.

We’re in Denmark so I guess Danish flag

Tax status..? Hmmm.. To tell you the truth I wouldn’t know.

No tax here on second hand deals.

I meant with regard to the EU VAT.  Does the boat have a certificate attesting that it was paid at some point?  Or is she too old to require it? (Apologies if this is irrelevant in Denmark...I'm a US citizen and therefore not entirely familiar with these matters.)

Sorry, Frederik, one more thing:  do you have any interior photos?  A sense of what's inside would also help.  Thanks again,

I can’t imagine that one would have to pay VAT on a boat from 1976

When I bought her in Sweden I sailed her home to Denmark and planted a danish flag on the stern

There is no need to register yachts of this size in Denmark.

I’ll see what I can find out regarding VAT certification.

I’ll take some pictures of the interior tomorrow but attached is what I’ve got on my iPhone

Orion is structurally very sound. During the conversion I took all the paint of the bottom to the bare fiberglass. No issues.

Down below she’s in ok condition. A bit of freshing up wouldn’t hurt, but other that that she’s fine.

I leaned heavily on Arne’s expertise when I converted Orion. I did basically the same as Arne did on his Ingeborg. The sail has got some more balance so as to get rid of some weatherhelm he experienced.

    Some more info:

The sail is made of weathermax80..

Battens, boom and Yard 6082T6 aluminum.

All running rigging in good shape.

    Solar cells and shore power

    8 kg/17 lbs Mantus M1anchor

    10 kg. Bruce anchor.

    Origo 3000 alcohol stove

    LED nav lights.

    Old VHF.

    Cockpit tent

    New antifauling

One battery for nav & interior lights

    Bucket for toilet.

    Cushions and duvets

old spray hood, probably needs new canvas.

    it’s all quite simple.

Some more photos of Orion’s interior.

I took deck deck lining off. It’s stored on my loft.

Plywood around companionway could need some loving care.

Please excuse my unsolicited opinion below.

If you want a junk rigged Folkboat then you should buy this one as soon as you can. The boat and the asking price look really good to me.

The vane gear is included! Ready to go sailing.

No VAT rules in Denmark for boats built before 1986, so..

Attached Orion’s certificate from the yard.
