We have received an email from Lee Ulyat, who has recently completed the restoration of Malliemac following the untimely passing of Peter Manning last year.

Malliemac is now for sale by Peter's estate, with offers in excess of 60000GBP suggested by the estate managers.  All proceeds from the sale will go to the RNLI - Lee will not take any commission on this sale either.

I have attached the sales pdf to this post and below is photo from the Association's photo gallery. There are a number of further photos on page 7 of the photogallery.

Anyone interested is asked to get in touch with Lee, who is happy to answer questions and will be available to show the boat in Preston Marina (UK):

But, within the meaning of the act, she is brand new.  Show me another brand-new 34 ft boat for that price!

    Hi Annie!

This is true. I didn't realize she was new. She sure is sweet.

As is FanShi!  .. Brand spanking new as well!

I'm so glad to see you out and enjoying her!

I haven't been a JRA member very long. I have been trying to find more information about "Malliemac" There seems to be a lot of information from around and before her launch.

I am curious about how well it performs in different sea states. Is she the only boat of her kind with this dagger board setup? Are there any JRA members that know some detail of the voyages Peter made with her? Did she cross the Atlantic?

I know the boat was designed for long, single handed, passages, but dit she actually make any?

My contact in Preston tells me Malliemac has been sold at auction by the RNLI.  No details of the new owner as yet.

The boat that she was based on, Tystie, https://www.trademe.co.nz/3467480533 is for sale in New Zealand.  Price negotiable and all you need to do is fill up with food and water and let go the mooring!
