    Gary, I am a bit confused about all this.  Maritime Safety Queenland says no recreational boating is allowed, though you can paddle your kayak or row your dinghy for exercise.  The Minister for Dept of Main Roads and Maritime says you can go fishing, as long as there are only two people in the boat and you are fishing for food, and that boat ramps will stay open.  The Prime Minister says that Grey Nomads whose vehicles (vessels) are their primary residences are classified as essential travellers and that caravan parks (marinas) should still allow them in.

    I am still in the marina in Mooloolaba  It seems I cannot go out for a sail for fun and to play with my new sail.  Perhaps though, if they close marinas and I have nowhere else to go I can sail the boat down to South Stradbroke Island and base myself there.  I have numerous friends living down there on their boats at anchor, shopping in Southport and either anchoring in Bums Bay or further up South Stradbroke Island.

    At this point I plan to pay for another month in the marina and reassess in early May.  It would be great to get out of the marina and save some money, plus it would be easier to isolate except when I had to go ashore for food and water. The communal toilets and showers in the marina are a bit of a worry.  But if I did get sick the Gold Coast is not the ideal place to leave a boat at anchor.  The Age of Uncertainty.

    We are on "lockdown" here but it is "casual" lockdown.  Schools are closed, restaurants still offer food to go ... you cannot come inside... Microbreweries fill growlers, no social gatherings or funerals or church services.  Travelers coming from out of state are asked to undertake a 14 day quarantine.  Hiking, and other outdoor activities for health are allowed so long as social distancing is maintained.......... Things are  not being enforced, drivers are not stopped and questioned.   20 motorcycles were gathered at an out of town bar Sunday, and apparently nobody did anything about  it......... The owner should be in jail or at least lose her liquor license.   People around me listen to right wing radio...Rush, and such,, and watch Faux  News, and are convinced that it's no big deal...."about like flu". Until it starts killing friends and neighbors they will not change, then they will  say "we didn't know"... Just like the townspeople around the death camps at the end of WWII.   Choosing to be ignorant is a choice, and we must recognize it as such.    Choosing to be part of the problem,  instead of part of the solution!!

    It's all gone a bit silly here, first it was toilet rolls and hand sanitiser. Now it's vege seedlings and laying chooks.

    I wanted, similarly, to record the SibLim 7metre project, as simply as possible, without wanting to become a blogging expert.

    I chose a free plan at wordpress.com, and then chose the Coherent theme, as it seemed to be simple enough to learn and manage. I use a Mac, too.

    Hi all,  Here we are self quarantined in NE USA.  My Badger is still in VT as I nut out the issues of getting her insured then moved.  Work takes me away for 2 months so it looks as if all that can wait til summer over here.

    So sadly I can't be using quarantine for boat projects right now and am on standby to fly to USVI to relief skipper a yacht that just arrived there, and bring her up to Florida.  Lots could go wrong there!

    So thinking of you all in your various parts of the world and how you are spending your time.

    For some reason Annie hopes I will pick up sticks and do some impressive voyaging in my Badger.  I think her alterior motive is for me to write about it.  Plus she's a self professed Badger nut!

    Does anyone have a blog recommendation for a semi literate computer user?  I lean towards Mac/ Apple platforms.

    I realize that everyone wants to be a UTUBE superstar to finance their lifestyle.  That isn't me.  I just want to record stuff like refurbing my Aries, dinghy selection etc in one useful place, so others can refer to it as I have done to theirs.

    Thanks and I hope everyone is being safe so we can put this all behind us and sail our junks.
