    Randy,

What a marvelous project!  I would second what Annie said about a blog, if you have the inspiration. Annie, does that link that Randy posted not let you see it? It seems like it's a Facebook "page" that should let folks who are not signed up with Facebook see it too.

On the Facebook subject, Randy, I wonder if you might be interested in the FB group International Junk Rig: Sailing Old and New. I'm quite sure that folks there would also love to hear about your project. But only if it doesn't take away from posting here!

    Hi Shemaya, thanks!

I just joined that group... looks interesting!

    I’ll definitely post there.

Starting another blog seems a lot to take on... I’ve about 5 I’ve begun and lost interest in keeping up... but this is a much more exciting project, so might suit that. I’ll consider.

    Thanks for your interest

No, after a few seconds it blocked out everything with demands that I sign in or join Facebook.  Irritating to say the least!

(I couldn't get onto the reply window, for some reason)  It all sounds very exciting, Randy.  You're probably too busy to do a blog, but it would be great to see more updates here, for those of us who don't use Facebook!

Hi All, it's been ages since I've posted here. I wanted to bring things up to date on my Classic Irish Trawler refit and rig to Junk.

I began work on the vessel over three years ago, and still have a large amount to do. I've replanked her from the waterline up, put a new 1 ½" ply deck on, and built a New pilot house from oak frames lined with ¾" ply. We've just installed our new Yew table a friend made for us and butcher block counter tops. Below, I've roughed out the main cabin and head, under a section of the deck we raised, and mostly completed an after cabin with room for 5, a table and movie viewing projection wall . I had new fuel tanks built and installed them, and have been out and about enjoying her when I can under power.

you can see progress here: Whaleheart

I had Alan Boswell, do up plans, of which I think looking cracking. Any thoughts from members of any noticeable concern, I'd be grateful to hear

I'm building the Main mast at present with douglas fir. I have long clean lengths. We are building it hollow. Cutting of the planks begins next week. Exciting stuff!
