Yes indeed Mark, that is the problem today,

and here in France I am so crossed with sailing publications

that only seem to target sailboats that costs so much,

the bigger the better it seems, and all the ads are from

luxury markets.  In Sweden there are lots of smaller

sailboats to rent from private people but I wanted to change

and sail in scottland and try a westerly or something similar

    before I buy one.

It is rare to find boat of this size for Charter.  Most are 35' plus.  As are most yachts in sailing schools, so people who come through that route think that what they must have,  hence all the 35' yachts that hardly ever get used as they are too big to handle!

It seems that this school only give courses with a Centuar, and for rental, only bigger boats.

Is there no website in the UK where private people rent their sailboats ?

The best way would be to try one out for a week or two in the UK or Scottland although it is raining there all the time if I understand right !

In my native country sweden, I live in the south of France, renting out your sailboat to others during the summer is very popular and not very expensive. About 500€ for a 25 foot sailboat like the Maxi 77. Here in France it is not so common for private people to rent their sailboats.

Is there any website in the UK where I can look to find a Westerly Centuar 26 for rent this summer ?

    Best Regards, Raymond
