Looks good, Gary.  I am still in Mooloolaba. I am hoping to get down into Moreton Bay in May for a month or two - doesn't look like I will be going north this winter.  My health is pretty shaky and longer passages would tire me too much at the moment.  However, I have bounced back before so who knows?  I'll let you know when I am heading your way.

Just thought I'd mention what I've been doing, which basically has been slowly working away at getting Redwing ready for her next Moreton Bay trip in Autumn. There is still a bit to do and I've barely tackled the refit under the new cockpit. Today I repaired the last bit of "known rot in the cabin top and I would have had the new grab rail back on but I'd beveled the base the wrong way and sadly I couldn't just turn it around. A quick pass across the tablesaw will fix it. I haven't been for a sail since July but as soon as I have the fuel tank fitted under the starboard side cockpit seat I will remedy that. I guess my non boat life has been a bit busy.

Steve Talbot, some years ago, bought Fantail's bermudian rig from Annie, but in the process fell in love with junk rig (I knew it was contagious!) and has been dreaming of a junk-rigged catamaran ever since.  I don't think Heather is going to allow him to convert their current cat, Inforapenny, though!
I thought the name rang a bell, but couldn't place it.  Small world, eh?  Funny that he should now like junk rig.

I suggest you take Heather for a sail - that would probably convert her, too!

That might be possible, but she still wouldn't convert Inforapenny, as it is a very expensive, luxurious boat with a "brand name" (A Lightwave 48).  Steve's idea is to build a new boat from scratch, he is a professional composite boatbuilder, so that would be easy enough for him.  But I think Heather is in love with her luxurious catamaran.  It will be interesting to see what develops.

Edit:  I HAVE taken Heather and Steve for a sail, in Sydney Harbour in 2015.  She was interested, but not converted.  Steve though loves the rig.

I'm hoping to sell the article to Cruising Helmsman so it should be ready. Sadly I lost a lot of photos when the sd card in the phone cacked itself.
