We are getting ready to convert our wishbone cat ketch Tanton43 to junk rig and are wondering if anyone in the US has had a sail maker build them a junk sail. I used (I think) Atlantic Sails back in 1979 when I converted my Albin Vega and was very pleased with their work. However, I don't seem to be able to find them on the web.

    Thanks for a great site

    Hello Glen,
Here's a sailmaker on the USA eastern seaboard who seems to be interested in junk rig:

We made our own sails for Easy Go, however there is a commercial sail loft in Lunenburg Nova Scotia that has experience with Junk Sails for those in North America.

When looking for links to sail makers etc. I notice that only Chris Scanes has been listed so far.

Here is a link To Sebastian Hentschel's sailmaker shop, "Tuchwerkstatt"

PS: I suggest the web master move this link to the link section.

    Hi Arne,
I had this link already in the Junkmaster "sails" section, but now I have it in both places, in the form that you sent.
Does anyone else have some useful links that I might add?

Here is a link To Sebastian Hentschel's sailmaker shop, "Tuchwerkstatt"

    http://www.tuchwerkstatt.de/product/junksails.html

    E-Mail: ahoi@tuchwerkstatt.de

    Their mail adress is:

    Segelmacherei Tuchwerkstatt
    Sebastian Hentschel
    Salinenstraße 20
    17489 Greifswald

    (Germany)

The web-site now also has a section in English and Sebastian both speak and write English well. Sebastian and his mate Nora are known for their grand JR Sloop "Peregrine" which you can read more about in my photo review from the JRA rally in Stavanger in August.
