Rallies

JRA rallies are held four to five times each year in a variety of locations, wherever there is a concentration of boats and members, and wherever several cruising members meet up.

JRA rallies give members the opportunity to meet, to try out the rig on members' boats, to discuss rig design and construction, to swap information and to recount their experiences.

Forthcoming Rallies

23 Mar 2012 (UTC+13:00) • in Mahurangi Harbour, North Island
26 May 2012 10:00 • Mayflower Sailing Club, Plymouth, UK
23 Jun 2012 10:00 • Ashlett Sailing Club, Ashlett Creek, off Southampton Water

Newsletters

The bi-annual newsletter/journal has provided the core of the JRA's existence for 30 years. Through the pages of the journal, total novices to the delights of sailing, seasoned cruising folk, famous pioneers of rig design and lone circumnavigators have exchanged information, ideas and experiences. Now, this website has been built to add another means of contact between members, reflecting the enormous changes in methods of communication that have occurred  since the JRA was founded.
Back issues of the Newsletter are available to Members to download and to purchase in printed form, forming an invaluable archive of information and experience for anyone interested in sailing, building or owning these rigs.

World-wide Membership

The JRA has members in all continents. Members who are geographically close can help each other with boat and rig design and building issues.
